What I might write about
Since I found Obsidian and started taking notes intensely on a daily basis, I hit 1M characters — dispersed across a thousand small files, close to 150k words, in a year and a bit. It's just a great habit to have.
I've been trying to be a little better every day, and since then I've slowly been getting through the phase where I want to start writing in public on a frequent basis.
One might ask what important or impressive thing I could share. That's the question going through my head too. I guess it's about practice — the first pieces won't be the quality I'd like, but with every one I sense I get better.
Meanwhile I raised the first money into a company to speed up development on KodaDot, on the sidelines I'm building SubWork and investing, [1], to learn more about the angel and venture industry. I bet I'm pretty average in terms of insight, yet I sense I'm far from the peak of what I can achieve in three years from today.
Potential writing topics
Supplements
In past months I've spent a thousand a month to see which supplements or medications have a positive or negative impact on my life and lifespan. I'd lean toward nailing down all the known ones with past experience attached. I have an Obsidian vault with over 100k characters of observations, notes and takes.
AI art
To be honest, I'm far from an ML/AI expert, but I have a fair overview of where we're heading. I've been closely watching the fast development in AI art tooling — Stable Diffusion, MidJourney, DALL·E. After watching Tesla AI Day I have a fair concern that AGI might be closer than we think. It even feels like AI development exploded on a bigger magnitude than crypto, and I can tell from far away it will have a lot of positive implications for abundance and paretotopian life.
Sci-fi book
I've always thought about writing a book based on my memory alterations and various twisted recalls, combined with popular writing on what the future could be in 20, 30, 50, 70 years from now. It offers a lot of room to explore and wander, and it could be an integrative form of sharing this.
Longevity
A continuum from supplements and extending lifespan. I do believe we will hit escape velocity in the next ten years — from an investor's perspective I'm observing cell therapies that can prolong lifespan. Right now it's not significant, but I believe it will become much longer. If you follow a healthy diet, keep stress low, and exercise the right way without wearing out your joints, I bet you can extend life 20–30 years in a much more peaceful way than carrying high inflammation into later age. It all comes down to how you adjust your life choices, and that determines how hard the times will be when things are no longer in check.
Investing
Currently a terrible topic for me, since I'm pretty much doing spray-and-pray based on gut feeling, likeness of the idea, and how crazy and wild it is. For example I'm impressed by anything about the space race — small modules, launch services, satellites, space vehicles with ion thrusters. Equally I'm impressed by society's ongoing crash course: if we destroy ourselves through financial market traps, or someone smashes the thermonuclear button, or we run out of resources or into food insecurity. All of these offer superior investment opportunities — how to cater for automation through agrobots, new ways to keep society running, fighting societal decline. Betting on escapism? No wonder people can't stand where and how they live. They'd like to try new (digital) experiences. Let's see what we can do about this.
Getting older
This doesn't imply one gets wiser with time or age, but it tinkers with the implications of experience and gained expertise. Naturally, older people want to share wisdom with younger folks, and sometimes it's tough to do.
The same way the cypherpunk manifesto has a lot of pearls even 30 years after writing, I bet someone in 2040 will find my writing eye-opening. It won't be many people — definitely some small niche where we're on the same page, and we probably will never meet. This could carry some interesting information or insight one doesn't need to seek. But who knows: in 2040 there are higher chances it gets used as feed for a neural machine rather than a human surfing the internet.
Twenty years is a long time. Look back at 1969 — the internet was meant as a place for virtual store departments. Since 2010 we call it e-commerce, no wonder it made such a boom. In 2020 we popularized NFTs as something that could open doors to an interoperable economy across a lot of closed silos. Hard to predict if anything I share here gets grabbed as meaningful, but it's always great to try.
Getting us on another planet
Especially when I used to travel by train a lot, I studied various interstellar propulsion systems — their state of the art, working prototypes, drafts, concepts. The EMDrive or a similar concept is around the corner to disrupt space transportation. I'm not sure I'll make it to Mars, but until then I'm looking at ways to speed up transportation to get us out of here, before something — or we ourselves — kills the resources on this planet, so we can pursue the next avenues in other galaxies.
I'm dumb
Probably the most humble and honest topic: the more I learn, the dumber I feel. When young, one tends to be a smartass, signalling that they know everything — but that's the moment you short yourself out of unique knowledge and learning something new.
That's why I stepped up the self-growth game: over 60 book summaries and a few more full books. It turns out a lot of these books repeat each other, saying close to the same thing in different phrasing — how to improve, be better, achieve things, get what you want, and feel much better.
So, briefly, that's a few topics I might add short writings on in the future — until I resume working on another billion-dollar idea, lmao.
